CONSERVATION & EDUCATION

At Manda Bay, we recognise the critical juncture our planet faces, where our decisions and lifestyles shape the future for generations to come.

Unique 'Beach & Bush' Experience

Experience our unique blend of beach and bush environments at Manda Bay. We partner with two conservation bodies and your stay includes Conservancy Fees that support ongoing land and marine rehabilitation projects. Explore and learn about these initiatives during your visit.

The Manda Projects Ltd has acquired land on the Northeastern peninsula of Manda Island to preserve flora and fauna. Their vision includes establishing an education centre offering tertiary education in land and marine conservation. The aim is to educate future generations on natural resource management, increase indigenous revenue streams, and enhance livelihoods while combating poverty.

The Ocean Trust focuses on marine conservation, particularly in building coral reefs crucial for ocean health. In collaboration with Mars Inc, they implement innovative methods like 'Reef Stars' to regenerate coral reefs at Manda. Future plans include establishing a training hub at the hotel to educate local communities and conservation bodies across the Indian Ocean region.

Future Goals

Over the next decade, we aim to significantly reduce damage to reefs, fish stocks, marine and birdlife, and wildlife species through education and community engagement. Working with local partners and international funding, we strive to manage natural resources sustainably, enhance indigenous revenue streams, and uplift communities out of poverty.
