Your hosts at Manda are two couples who own and manage the lodge. Caragh and Andy Roberts and Fuzz and Bimbi Dyer. Both families are third generation Kenyans and have been involved in the service industry for some time. Caragh and Andy managed 'Rusinga Island lodge' on lake Victoria for five years which was a very successful fishing destination and reknowned for its bird-life. Andy has always been a very enthusiastic ornithologist and shares this hobby with interested guests at Manda. Caragh is a proficient cook and used to running a tight ship behind the scenes. Fuzz and Bimbi managed 'Borana Lodge' near Mount Kenya for five years for the family company. The lodge, situated on a large ranch offered riding safaris and fantastic game viewing. Fuzz has been a keen conservationist all his life and has enormous experience in this field. Bimbi is a trained chef having worked in restaurants in London. She is a keen watersports enthusiast, and does a lot of waterskiing and wake-boarding instruction at Manda. In November 2003 the partnership bought Manda Bay then known as the Blue Safari Club and have managed it to this day. Extensive refurbishment and renovation has taken place since 2003 and all the building has been designed and built by Fuzz and Andy, both experienced in construction using local materials.
